Common questions
Can the broken piece come out without wrecking the lock?
In the vast majority of cases, yes. We use proper extraction tools that pull the snapped piece out without harming the lock or barrel.
Can you cut a new key from the broken one?
Usually. As long as we have the pieces, or can read the lock, we can cut and program a fresh key on site.
Why do keys snap?
Worn keys, stiff or frozen locks, and forcing a jammed barrel are the usual causes. If a lock is getting stiff, it's worth sorting before the key gives way.
